Hi, I’m Libra Mons – a stippling artist inspired by the wonders of nature, landscapes, and the beauty of our precious planet.

My journey into art began in October 2019, sparked by the creativity of my 8-year-old daughter. What started as an experiment quickly grew into a passion, and I’ve loved every dot ever since.

Why Libra Mons?

When I began creating, I debated whether to use my real name or adopt an artist name. I wanted this chapter of my life to feel fresh and distinct from my background in photography, design, and web development. After much thought, I decided on Libra Mons—a name that carries personal meaning.

“Libra” reflects my star sign, while “Mons,” the Latin word for mountain, represents my fascination with space exploration. The name is inspired by Olympus Mons, the tallest mountain in our solar system, located on Mars. Though I may never visit the Moon or Mars, the dream remains alive in my art and imagination.

The Art of Stippling

The technique I use, stippling, involves creating intricate illustrations using countless monochrome dots. It’s a methodical process requiring patience and precision, but the results are strikingly textured and timeless.

Stippling is closely related to pointillism, which uses coloured dots and the science of colour theory to craft vibrant compositions. My focus, however, remains on the monochrome simplicity that highlights the beauty of form and detail.
